Throughout the game, you'll claim Banner cards that will give you an edge during the game! Each Banner card lists an effect that you can use on each of your turns as long as that Banner card is in your Party. Your Banner cards cannot be stolen, destroyed, attacked, or returned to your hand, but they can be seized by another player.

There are two types of Banner cards: CLASS BANNER CARDS: There are 10 Class Banner cards in this expansion, one corresponding to each of the 10 classes in the Here To Slay base game and expansion packs.

To claim a Class Banner card, you must be the first player to reach 3 of that class in your Part (including your Party Leader).

For example, to claim the Fighter Banner card, you must have 3 Fighters in your Party. When you claim a Banner card, add it to your Party.

Once you've claimed a Class Banner card, don't get too comfortable! Another player can seize that Banner card from you if they exceed the number of the corresponding class in your Party. When a player seizes your Banner card, they take it from your Party and add it to their Party. Here are a few technicalities (using the Fighter Banner card as an example):

  • If you are the first player to reach 3 Fighters and another player later reaches 3 Fighters, they do not seize the Fighter Banner card if you still have 3 Fighters in your Party.
  • If another player reaches 4 Fighters and you still have 3 Fighters in your Party, they seize the Fighter Banner card.
  • If you have already claimed the Fighter Banner card and a Fighter Hero card in your Party is destroyed or stolen (bringing you down to 2 Fighters), you still keep the Fighter Banner card unless another player now has a greater number of Fighters in their Party than you do.
  • If you have already claimed the Fighter Banner card and a Fighter Hero card in your Party is destroyed or stolen (bringing you down to 2 Fighters), and two players each have 3 Fighters in their Party, the first of those players clockwise from you seizes the Fighter Banner card.

In short, once a Class Banner card has been claimed, another player will seize it each time they become the player with the greatest number of that class in their Party.

HUNTER'S TROPHY BANNER CARD: There is only 1 Hunter's Trophy Banner card in this expansion. To claim the Hunter's Trophy Banner card, you must be the first player to SLAY a Monster card.

After that, each time a player SLAYS a Monster card, they seize the Hunter's Trophy Banner card.
