Unstable Unicorns Diamond Info
Diamond Edition, Phase, Dice, and Unicorn cards.
The Diamond Edition; is identical to the base game.
The Diamond Edition has all the same cards from the 2E white box base game plus the 4 diamond unicorn cards and the dice.
The diamond unicorn cards have a special white diamond card back but can be easily added to the normal deck if you are using sleeves and could be played and treated like any other unicorn card. It can be played with or without the diamond unicorn cards or dice. Expansions can be added as normal.
The Diamond Phase can be skipped.
The Diamond phase is included in any effect that causes a player to skip to the end of turn phase.
The Diamond Dice "roll action" is not a protected effect from other gameplay effects.
The "roll action" occurs every time a player has a Diamond Phase.
Impossible Action will trigger if the dice roll causes an effect that cannot be done, that effect is disregarded (as normal). This includes an effect when a diamond unicorn card is trying to leave a stable it cannot.
Diamond Unicorn Cards
(Immunity) Cannot be the target for the following:
- Sacrifice.
- Destroy.
- Return (to a player's hand).
- Any effect when it is in the Vault. The cards are in the Vault they are not in a stable.
If a non-targeting effect would resolve it would not affect a Diamond Unicorn card (Impossible action triggers resulting in that effect being disregarded).
Diamond Unicorn cards in a stable are a valid target:
- Steal.
- Move.
- Remove from game.
Diamond Unicorn cards in a stable are considered a "unicorn" and count towards the win condition.
A player can have multiple Diamond Unicorn Cards in their stable.
Diamond Unicorn cards in a stable are treated as any other unicorn card and are affected by any continuous mandatory effects:
- Masquerade - Unicorn cards cannot be affected in any way. Do not count as a "unicorn" for win condition. During a game, If a masquerade card is in a stable long enough the player will eventually collect all the Diamond unicorns cards.
- Blinding Effect - The Diamond unicorn cards have no effect text when entering or while in stable.
- Barbed Wire - Trigger as any other unicorn card would.
- Tiny Stable - Trigger as any other unicorn card would, but could not be chosen to sacrifice (immunity).
Diamond Unicorn cards cannot be neigh'd. The diamond dice "roll action" is an effect. Neigh cards only target cards that are played.
